I feel like ever since Facebook came along I've gotten real lazy about writing. Or maybe my life has been just really dull lately. Which, I suppose it has.
I did finish my novel, although it's not actually done. I am hoping to spend January or February finishing it up. Somehow I'm motivated to finish it next year. Just like I'm suddenly motivated to get my marathon run next year. My impending birthday depressing-decade-milestone has nothing to do with it. I swear. Turning 30 has nothing to do with my wanting to get all these things done next year...by roughly...oh I don't know...October 18, say. Nothing whatsoever to do with it. So now Rob and I are looking for a marathon. Or, I'm looking for a marathon and he's looking for a half marathon. Because he's not crazy. The craziest thing is that there are several marathons on the 18th, so I don't know that I'll be able to resist the temptation of running 26.2 miles the day I turn 30. Why not? Lots of people older than me do it. But they probably also train more often and drink less often...There is one in Newport and one in Bar Harbor, so those are the two most tempting. We'll see.
Rob and I also have our destination for the end of next month: it's Barcelona! So that's exciting.
Man I wish I could put together a coherent thought. But I'm enjoying a really good barleywine and hanging our with Rob. More to follow. Merry Christmas to all.
