So, according to Rob I am now officially wicked old after my birthday yesterday. I don't really feel any different, but I'm certainly not as young as a I used to be. I spent my night at a wonderful dinner at the Cheesecake Factory with Lynny (who came all the way from Brooklyn, which is on a planet called New York state), Marie and Chip, Rob, Laura and Guy. It was delicious. Then Lynny and I grabbed a bottle of wine and watched the game. Thank goodness my Red Sox won for my birthday.
Then this morning Lynn and I joined Mark for some breakfast at Persey's, and that was also amazing. I've eaten well this weekend! I took Brody for a nice long walk, and yet he's still all sorts of crazy. It was actually not a bad day out today, although quite windy. I'm not ready for it to be cold.
So I survived the beerfest last weekend with Steve, Erin, Matt, Joel and Rob, and then I went on to Atlanta for a baby shower for Marie and Chip, which was also great. It was crazy flying on 3 one-way tickets, 3 airlines through 5 airports in one weekend. Busy. Still tired.
Fall is always busy; I've got about 2 more weeks of soccer left. This is by far the nicest group of boys I've ever had. They are so sweet. Normally I've hit a brick wall with them far sooner than this. They're just a nice group, they work as a team and they're coachable. So it's been fun...would like a couple more wins though to end the season closer to .500.
I have to decide what to wear to school tomorrow. I'm doing this thing, mostly just to entertain myself, and because a former student did it last year for an entire school year; I'm trying not to repeat an outfit for as long as I can. Haven't yet. Now, obviously, you math geeks out there know that with permutations, if I have X number of pants and Y number of shirts it could easily be possible not to repeat a whole outfit. But what will get tough is whether I wore these pants with this shirt, blah blah...So we'll see how long it lasts. Can I go a full marking term? Maybe. I did buy a new sweater or two today...I have an obscene amount of clothing. But it's kinda fun, and it's good, because it makes me wear things I otherwise wouldn't, just for the sake of variety. OK maybe I'm crazy. Or maybe I'm just trying to rationalize owning like 8 pairs of black pants. They're different. But who else would ever notice enough to see that they're different? This one has a gray pinstripe, this one's blue...yeah.
OK well I have to assume baseball watching positions soon. Can they do it?
